B&O Medicom initiates and sponsors conference

Copenhagen Compliance & Concordance Conference (CCCC) 2008
B&O Medicom has initiated CCCC 2008 together with the University of Copenhagen and the Research Centre for Quality in Medicine Use, because we truly believe in the benefits of improving individual patient compliance to prescribed therapies and thereby providing a shortcut to better health.

CCCC 2008 gathers a number of leading experts active in the field of patient compliance and adherence including Dr. Brian Haynes, Professor of Clinical Epidemiology and Medicine, McMaster University, who will discuss the Cochrane review on adherence. The conference aims at discussing compliance and creating a profound insight in the subject through input from many different stakeholders, including researchers, practitioners, regulatory bodies, the pharmaceutical industry, as well as patients and their relatives. Thereby, we aim at creating a dedicated platform for intelligent compliance solutions for the future.

You can shortly read more and sign up for the conference on our web site.

Next Generation of Asmair®

Asmair®, B&O Medicom’s next generation pMDI actuator for asthma and COPD, is taken a step further. Offering force to fire reduction, robust dose counter with proprietary under counting prevention and outstanding customizability to a potential client’s needs even to meet the pharmaceutical performance of a client’s existing standard actuator.

Asmair® now also accommodates 10, 12 and 14 ml can sizes. Adhering to the voice of the customer, B&O Medicom presented a concept model featuring a detachable mouthpiece which was very positively received by the participants at DDL18 in Edinburgh, Scotland, on December 12-14, 2007, where we also presented results from our ongoing final verification testing. Asmair® has passed the acceptance criteria on the robustness parameters in terms of functional measurements of lifetime tests, transportation, cleaning and mechanical impact. Further pharmaceutical performance testing aiming to show equivalence between a standard pMDI actuator and Asmair® is ongoing and results are expected during Q1/08.

We look forward to meeting you again at our stand at the Respiratory Drug Delivery (RDD) Conference in Arizona, May 11-15, 2008, where we will update you on the performance results and on other scheduled platforms including a next generation Medicom BAI.
