Helping Hand Data Capture was celebrated on stage at the Essen Aalto Theater in Germany on June 23, 2008.
Paul Erik Fabricius, Senior Design Manager at Bang & Olufsen Mediocm, received the Red Dot trophy. He pointed out that: “Good design is a key factor for integrating good medical treatment into people’s lives. If you can relate to the idea, the concept and the physical product, your chance of doing things right increases. Therefore, design has the potential of adding more value than technical developments.”
Not only is Helping Hand Data Capture a Red Dot, it is also awarded as Best of the Best in 2008. It means that the product has been carefully selected and valued to be the best of all product designs in the medical product design category. Professor Dr. Peter Zec, design manager of the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen and initiator of the Red Dot design award, said: “The results of the red dot award: product design 2008 have shown that global design awareness is at a level never seen before.” With 3,203 submissions the competition in the awards program has increased with 26% since last year, which show the growing importance of good design on the global market.
