Patient empowerment by adding electronics to your devices

Micro electronics is increasingly becoming a key differentiating factor and driver in drug delivery devices. New generations of injection and inhalation systems have integrated micro electronics to assist in improving patient compliance and empowerment and to lead to overall savings in healthcare costs.

Micro electronics may be new to many pharmaceutical companies. There is however already much experience around when it comes to implementation, patient use of features and cost efficiency. B&O Medicom has been involved in numerous feasibility studies and technology due diligence projects helping our drug delivery device clients to address these issues.

Contact Hans J. Jensen at hje@medicomnordic.com if you will like to hear more about opportunities for benefiting your patient and learn about B&O Medicom’s abilities.

Impact of the Helping Hand on patient compliance

What is it good for…? Bayer Schering in Poland has performed a large RCT to assess the impact of an electronic monitoring and reminder device on patient compliance with antihypertensive therapy. An article in Journal of Hypertension this autumn will reveal IF the Helping Hand has improved compliance for the study population as well as their attitude towards the device.

Email Peter W. Ravn at pwr@medicomnordic.com in case you will like a copy of the article, make a shortcut to the outcome or if you want to discuss clinical trials with the Helping Hand.

LEVA® User feedback

It may work well, it may be safe and it may look nice. But what are actual patient perceptions about the LEVA auto injector? Does the patient find LEVA intuitive and easy to use? And do perceptions vary from a patient suffering from RA to a patient with MS or with diabetes? And what age does LEVA fit best? A survey with 76 patients  suffering from RA, MS or diabetes and with age ranging from 7 to 77 years reveal pro’s and cons toward LEVA in a recent executed User trial.

Email Tanya Arp Nielsen at taa@medicomnordic.com if you will like to hear about the outcome of the user trial.
